Are you excited yet?

I think something is wrong with me – we leave on our adventure in just over 2 weeks, but I’m not excited. I don’t really feel anything, other than annoyed by all the hassles of putting our “real world” life on hold.

As of today, we are officially homeless. All of the stuff we didn’t manage to sell or give away are being stored at Danielle’s parents’ house. It sure seemed like we were getting rid of a lot of stuff during the last several months, but we still had a lot more left than I thought.

Still, it’s kind of cool to think that for the next year, there will be no more house to keep clean, no more lawns or shrubs to keep trimmed, no more utility bills to pay, no more mortgage payments. (woohooo! )

If you ever decide to follow our lead and pack away all your belongings to travel the world, I have one piece of advice: HIRE MOVERS. Even with as little stuff as we had left, it was still a huge hassle to move it ourselves. What were we thinking?

Thanks to all our friends & family members who’ve helped us out with the heavy lifting, given us a place to store our stuff and given us a place to live for the next couple of weeks. I don’t know how we could’ve done this without you!

I’ll try to get more excited…
