A Mile in Her Shoe

by Danielle on October 16, 2008

One of our favorite places to go to in San Juan is the El Morro fortress. I like to see how time has worn away the bricks yet it still has a solid feel. It is about 40 minute walk from the pier through Old San Juan.

As were nearing El Morro I started hearing complaints from Olivia. Her shoes had rubbed a good size blister on her right foot. I had a band-aid but she was too sweaty for it to stick and do any good. She has grown too big for me to carry so the girls & I switched shoes:

That’s me on the right, wearing one of my shoes & one of Olivia’s. It was interesting to me how many people notice your shoes. We got a few funny looks for our mixed up feet, but I didn’t care. You do what you can for your kids.

That’s a long walk. Did you walk back?
