One of the coolest things aboard Freedom of the Seas is Flowrider, the onboard surfing simulator. It’s really a lot of fun! I got the hang of boogie boarding pretty quickly, so I was determined to master stand-up surfing before we got off the ship.
I signed up for some lessons. One of the first things I learned is that I surf “goofy-foot”, which means I prefer to stand on the board with my right foot forward during the 1 – 2 seconds before I wipe out.
After an hour of intensive training, I was getting pretty good – I could stay on the board for almost 5 seconds before eating the wave.
Impressive, huh?
Eager as I was to try it again, when I awoke the next morning I was so sore I couldn’t sit up out of bed.
Or lift my head off the pillow.
Maybe I should stick to boogie boarding.

ok, that looks like so much fun!!!
OH man I would do that even with the broken foot!! What a riot! for 5 seconds. . ..
looks like great fun. next cruise I will give it ago. don’t give up yet . get a good rub down on these seldom used muscles.
If I were only younger, but then I couldn’t learn how when I was younger.
mando – that would be a different kind of “goofy foot”! How is your goofy foot, by the way? They’re not gonna have to amputate or anything, are they?
Dad, you should NOT try this – I’m still recovering after almost 3 weeks!
