Emerald Princess

Emerald Princess is much newer than Freedom of the Seas, but it doesn’t have all the hip, flashy innovations – I guess you could say it’s more of an “old-school” cruise ship.

Instead of a huge 4-story mall running down most of the length of the ship, this one has a small 3-story Piazza in the middle.

It’s cool, though – ringed with nice cafes & bars, and they even have tapas and sushi available at night. (the sushi’s not as good as back home, but it is real sushi).

We like to hang out there lot, partly because our stateroom is just down the hall, and partly because you never know what’s going to happen –we might catch a spontaneous street performance, or some odd puppets might come by (and scare Hannah).

Aside from the piazza, most of the inside of the ship feels a bit cramped and maze-like, compared to our old ship. It took us a lot longer to learn our way around. Almost all the ceilings are lower, and the passageways much narrower.

Still, we’re finding many things to like about our new hometown. Here are a few more pictures:
