One of the things I look forward to most about our trip is all the strange and new foods we get to try. Unfortunately, the cuisine in Cusco is not that exciting.
Of course, there is one unusual delicacy – cuy, or guinea pig. It’s always the most expensive thing on the menu, but I had to try it at least once.
So, on one of our last nights we went to this restaurant, whose name in Quechua means “happy little guinea pig”. Check it out:
It’s more fun to look at than to eat – but it made for some good video!

I’m not surprised, but how could you eat those cute little things.
I suggested the same Guinea Pig for Shari to pick up for lunch today at Fast Cuts. She said no (really NO!)
I am really glad that the girls are willing to try new food.. that is fantastic…
oh yeah good eatin’ with the hot suace..
That is SO very disturbing. Did you really have to cut to the live ones??? 😉
Knowing Marc the way I do I’d have to say yep, he really had to show the live ones too. What didn’t make the cut was the sign right above the cuy that said KITCHEN.
Now that belongs on Bizarre Foods! Cuy cuy cachoo!
