As I mentioned before, we did a whole lot of nothing in Buenos Aires – our stops here were intended to be a break from the intense sightseeing in other parts of South America- a chance to relax and regroup. It was also a chance for us to try out the big-city life, a stark contrast from our suburban lifestyle back in Dallas.
Though we didn’t even try to “do it all”, we managed to do a little sightseeing. We took advantage of BA Freetour’s free walking tours of El Centro and Recoleta, where we learned a bit of the city’s history in addition to seeing some of its major sights, like the Casa Rosada:
We also paid a visit to the Buenos Aires Zoo,
and the Japanese Gardens, teeming with hungry koi:
We took in a few museums, too – and gawked at some of the city’s many monuments.
This city is monument-crazed, I tell you!
We enjoyed dinner and a tango show on the Terrazas at Buenos Aires Design,
and we managed to check out most of the city’s major neighborhoods, from the parks of Palermo
down to the ultra-modern, ultra-touristy Puerto Madero.
But my favorite little neighborhood was the one where all the residents are dead…

What an experience y’all are having.
Bring out your dead! But I’m not dead yet! Yes you are.
