I’ve already mentioned how hard it was to decipher the menus in Tokyo. Luckily, many restaurants here have picture menus, so I can do my caveman “point & grunt” thing.
A lot of restaurants have taken this a step further, displaying elaborate plastic replicas of their food. One day we went down “restaurant street” near Asakusa, where you can buy everything you need for a restaurant, including the fake food.
At one store we found the shelves full of incredibly detailed and appetizing food replicas. The sushi looked especially tasty,
as did the desserts,
and the frosty (looking) beers!
Soon we had to go find some real food, this place made us hungry!
