I’ll admit I had serious reservations about going to Tokyo Disneyland. Aside from the expense, I was sure it would be ridiculously crowded. Danielle insisted, though, so off we went.
When we arrived, there were tons of people there, just as I expected. But when we reached the first ride there was almost no line at all. The same was true at the next attraction, then the next – what were all the people here doing if not riding the rides?
We never had to wait more than 15 minutes in line that day, and we rode just about everything. In fact, we even rode one kiddie coaster 3 times in a row without stopping. That was almost as fun as the teacups!
Of course everything is in Japanese, but since the park is nearly identical to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, this wasn’t a problem. We even stayed until nightfall and watched the big light parade.
As it turns out, this little dose of familiarity and fun was just what we needed. It was definitely one of the best days of our trip.

One of the things I like about visiting Tokyo Disneyland was the chance to see the Japanese at play. Despite appearances, somehow it felt very different to the US Disneys. Maybe it was the sleeping salaryman Dads or the amount of packaging you got with your souvenirs. We are definitely taking our kids when we visit Tokoy on our rtw trip!
Question?? If the crowds were there but not at the rides where or what were they doing in Disney land I’ll bet it was a pleasant surprise , Yes!!??
