The Kids Zone

by Marc on November 19, 2008

All the large cruise ships have an area designated for children, where they can participate in supervised activities while the grownups can enjoy a break from them. So far, this has been major factor in keeping us all sane. (well, at least not any more insane)

The cruise lines give these areas catchy names like Explorers, Voyagers, Shockwaves, or Princess Pelicans, but we refer to all of them simply as “The Kids Zone”.

On Emerald Princess, there are far fewer children than we saw on Freedom of the Seas, due mostly to the fact that it sails 10-night itineraries. (most other people’s kids aren’t delinquents like ours). This means Hannah & Ray get to do some more interesting crafts & activities.

They also get to play more video games, and both have developed a sudden passion for Guitar Hero. Apparently Hannah’s favorite song to play is “Shout at the Devil”.

It’s nice to know the old classics are still alive and well. :)
